Habano

Although the term 'Habano' refers to a cigar rolled in Cuba exclusively from Cuban tobacco leaves,
“Habano wrapper” in the non-Cuban industry refers to cigars that are produced with “Cuban seed” tobacco; meaning that the tobacco in the cigar is not genuine Cuban tobacco but tobacco derived from original Cuban tobacco seeds and grown elsewhere such as the Dominican Republic or North America.

“Habano wrapper/shade” is also used in the non-Cuban industry to describe cigars whose shades are Colorado or Colorado Maduro, the most typical shades of Cuban cigar wrappers.
